Everybody Wins! Vermont is a reading mentoring program with over 600 volunteer mentors who read to children in local elementary schools. The mentors typically read for an hour every week, often during lunch. Waterbury’s Thatcher Brook Primary School has participated in Everybody Wins! since 2009, supporting between 35-50 children per year.
In 2019-20, 35 Everybody Wins! mentors read with children at Thatcher Brook Primary School. Waterbury town appropriations have helped add another day of reading and more mentors. Ideally, Everybody Wins! would like to recruit enough mentors so that every child who would like to be paired with a mentor may have one. Unfortunately, Everybody Wins! in Waterbury did not meet in 2021 due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
